Frequently Asked Questions

Do you let children come to a trial lesson?

Yes. Better than that - they can come to the trial lesson for FREE. To book just fill out the form that is here. After we get your form - we’ll contact you to book your Little Llama in.

Have your teachers been DBS checked?

Yes. All our teachers have their DBS certificates. In fact, Karen and Jay - the two main Coulsdon teachers have both got full enhanced DBS certificates. Parents are always welcome to have a look at the paperwork.

Are your teachers First Aid trained?

Yes. We always have at least one member of on-site staff who is a qualified first aider.

Are your teachers insured?

Yes. All our teachers have full public liability insurance. Many of our Masterclass teachers have specific PLI for the subjects they teach. Karen and Jay both have PLI worth up to £10,000,000.

I have two children, is there a discount?

There is but you can only get a discount off our full normal price. Looking at our 3 hour classes. If you have more than one child - then each of them gets £5 off the full price of a lesson. So, one child [at the prices for 2024] would be £30 per lesson. If you were enrolling two children then you would be paying £50 for both [£25 for each child and saving £10]. You would need to contact us to book.

We can never make the day/time you teach

Well, technically that wasn’t a question. If the times or days we run lessons are no good for your child - we’d love to know. If we get feedback that other dates or times would work better - we can look to see if we can run classes sometime in the future that will be a better fit for your child.

Do you do private lessons?

Yes. But they are more expensive. We have also run private LAMDA lessons at other venues. These lead to outside exams and the higher grades are even worth UCAS points. Although both Karen and Jay have taught LAMDA - Karen in particular has extensive experience in putting 100s of students through the process. If LAMDA lessons, or private help with drama school auditions, is of interest, you would need to contact us.

Little Llamas are 4-7, Drama Llamas are 7+ to what age?

We find that the longer a Drama Llamas School has been running, the older the oldest children that go will be. There is no upper age cut off. Contact us for a chat if you are not sure.

Do you teach adults?

For private lessons - all the time. Whether that is coaching for presentations, to work on audition pieces, or just for a hobby. We don’t teach an adult class in drama. Jay has run numerous course in comedy imrpo, stand up comedy, and comedy writing, for adults. Karen teaches adults and professionals at top accredited drama schools. If there was a demand for a weekly adult class we would be more than happy to add a weekly Senior Llamas Class for those who are 18+.

Are your classes suitable for SEND Children?

All our teachers have experience working with SEND children.

From what age do you take children?

Four years plus. If your Little Llama is turning four during the term you can enrol them to start from the beginning of that term.

How much are your classes?

Our classes are 3 hours long and cost £30. We charge for the term, so if there are 10 weeks in the term that would be £300.

If we miss a class can we get a refund?

Unfortunately not.

What should my child wear to the classes?

Comfortable clothing as they will be moving about. Suitable for the time of year/weather.

What should my child bring with them?

A water bottle, and a snack (no nuts) if they might need one.
